I recently chatted about the rise in men’s skincare brands and how Rihanna’s Fenty Skin is normalizing men’s makeup.

As my clients know, I’m passionate about approaching skin care as part of a holistic health routine — so I’m excited that I had the opportunity to share my expertise with Rolling Stone alongside celebrity men’s groomer Christine Nelli.

I spoke about how mental health awareness and social media are just a few factors that we can credit for the rise in men’s skincare. Here’s a quick snippet from my interview:

“It’s the everyday man — no longer the ‘metrosexual’ — who’s really wanting to know what is good for their skin. It’s all about a holistic approach to health. And they’re interested in doing their own skin treatments at home, they’re doing their research, and they’re listening,” he says.

I also chatted with the magazine about how brands like Rihanna’s Fenty Skin (which caters to all gender identities and ages) are normalizing cosmetics for men.
